Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteousalready has a massive number of classes with twenty-six including the DLC,The Last Sarkorians. This can be overwhelming for many new players, but in the original tabletop game, there are forty classes, not including altered variants of classes called Unchained. These missing classes can be a major reason to sit down with friends and experiencePathfinder: Wrath of the Righteouson the tabletop.

Though Owlcat has shown a willingness to change how classes play from tabletop including changing features or adding new original archetypes. This makes Owlcat’s version of a class an exciting event as the video game is so closeto its tabletop originalthat it is easy to translate screen and keyboard to pen and paper.

10Vigilante: Superheroes With Secret Identities

Vigilante is a unique class in the tabletop. Their main feature is called Dual Identity which allows the player to have a public identity of a notable figure and a secret one of the vigilante, a masked superhero.

This would be hard to put into a video game, but having a class that altered Crusade Management due to their social identity would be ideal. They could also allow the player to switch in the field via a unique dialog interaction, since, after all, being in a social identity doesn’t stop the player from using vigilante abilities.

9Investigator: Detectives Who Solve Mysterious And Combat

A lot of the plot of Wrath of the Righteous is about the mystery that Areelu Vorlesh, the main antagonist, wants the player to solve. The Investigator as a class is all about solving the case. The Investigator is a hybrid likeSlayer, Shaman, or Bloodrager.

This means that they are a combination of two classes, whereas an Investigator is a combination of a rouge and an alchemist. The Investigator has both the Studied Strike and alchemist spells but where they truly shine in passing rolls. Both with gaining bonuses to knowledge checks and attack roles.

8Gunslinger: Daring Acts And Trick Shots

One thing which makes the Pathfinder setting stand out when compared to Dungeons and Dragons is its embracing of technology. The Gunslinger is a class that acts as the symbol of that part of the world-building.

A Gunslingers’s main abilities are focused on deeds which are cool trick shots, which are only limited by a pool of points called Grit. The issue with Gunslinger is adding a whole new weapon to the game, though guns in the setting have as much strange magical enchants as much as any other weapon.

7Swashbuckler: Stylish Sword-Swinging

Swashbuckler is another hybrid class, this time between the fighter and gunslinger. They have deeds like Gunslinger but instead of trick shots, they have stylish sword fighting. One of the most useful allows the player to parry enemy attacks and hit them back.

Swashbucklers make for the perfect ‘devil-may-care’ type of character. This is a great class for any follower of the drunk god ofadventurers, Cayden Cailean. It also pairs well with the Shackles' Corsair as a background and the Tankard of Free Spirits item to complete the image of a cheerful swashbuckler saving the day from demons.

6Spiritualist: Have A Ghost Friend To Help

Spiritualist is a strange class, not because of any mechanical reason, but because it is technically in the game. The companion Finnean the Talking Weapon is an example of one. Though his soul being trapped in a weapon means he doesn’t use any of his class abilities.

A Spiritualist has a companion called a phantom which is a ghost that aids the spiritualist. These ghost abilities are based on what emotion is keeping the ghost attached to this world. This is both great for people who like mechanical choice and role-playing.

5Psychic: Mind Over Spells

Psychics are the wizards of the Occult Classes which is a group of classes to which the kineticists class belongs to. The major change for psychics is their changes to spell casting. They gain a new type of casting tradition outsidedivine and arcane.

The Psychic tradition makes it harder or impossible to cast spells when the player character is under an emotional effect like fear. They also have new spells which change based on the spell level, meaning the player can stick with the same spell since the start of the game but much more powerful.

4Ninja: As Quiet As The Wind

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteoushas a lot of Japanese weapons and armor. It also introduced theKitsune race to the video game. Though despite this, both samurai and ninja classes were left out. The ninja class is based on the rogue class, so both have sneak attacks.

Where they change is in the ninja’s focus on stealth and movement. They have different tricks compared to the rogue and one of their abilities allows them to walk across lava. Of course, powers like that are broad enough that they would change in a video game, but it shows the potential for the ninja to stand out compared to its rogue brother.

3Summoner: Summoning Up Some Help

One major strategy when dealing with a difficult fight inPathfinder: Wrath of the Righteousis to fill the map with summoned creatures. The summoner is a class all about this strategy where they gain bonuses to the creatures summoned with spells.

Though the standout feature of the summoner is the Eidolon, a customizable powerful summon. The Eidolon is an outsider and is often been built around one of the many types of outsiders like angels, azatas, and devils. Lore-wise the summoner has a connection to another plane, which makes for great role-playing for certain mythic paths.

2Brawler: Adaptive Punching

One major issue withPathfinder: Wrath of the Righteousis that new players may be overwhelmed amount of feats. Brawlers can lessen these issues due to their ability to change out what martial feats they have. This allows players to experiment more with awider range of featswithout fear of messing up their whole build.

It also allows the player to play a punching character that isn’t a monk with its alignment resection. Brawlers also specialize in combat maneuvers that allow them to grapple opponents which can both be satisfying and useful.

1Antipaladin: The Champions Of The Dark Gods

The Paladin is a great class. It allows the player to be a shining knight with the power of the good gods to smite the demons back into the abyss. Antipaladins are their direct opposite; they are chaotic evil champions of an evil god. In a game with which god the player character worships is a choice of character creation having a class all for worshiping evil ones could shine for role-playing.

As for the abilities of the Antipaladin, they are all dark versions of the paladins, instead of helping people with mercies, they harm people with cruelties. Instead of an Aura of Good, they have an Aura of Evil. They are the perfect class to play a dark knight for darker deities.
