The Altmer, or High Elves, of Summerset have a distinctly noble and perhaps even snobby air around them at all times. They are well represented throughoutThe Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimas magic users – there’s a good chance that the rogue Mage in the distancecasting a fireball towards youis, in fact, a High Elf.

They are well equipped for the arcane arts, to be certain, but they are also politicallyshrewd and well-versedin the arts of diplomacy.Skyrim’s Thalmor, after all, is almost 100% made up of High Elves. Not all High Elves are hell-bent on Elven Supremacy, though, and there are some great addons out there that will make Altmer players feel more welcomed in the Nord province.
5Summerset Isle
Summerset Isle is a very, very long way from Skyrim – one not only has to travel by land across Tamriel, they also have to cross the Abecean Sea separating the Altmer homeland from Hammerfell and Cyrodiil. In short, getting back home is tough for a Skyrim-based High Elf – unless, of course, you also happen to be the Arch-Mage of the College of Winterhold.
The Summerset Isle Mod opens with the player as the Arch-Mage being summoned to the Altmer homeland. It’s an absolutely massive mod, boldly featuring over 60 hours of gameplay, fully voiced NPCs,new items and weapons, new homes, and a number of new spells, music, and towns and cities to explore. It’s the ultimate getaway package, especially for the homesick High Elf.

TheSummerset Isle modcan be downloaded (and installed) through theSkyrimNexus.
4An Altmer Intrigue
There are not too many Altmer-centric questlines inSkyrim. Sure, High Elves make up most of the Thalmor, but they’re portrayed as the bad guys throughout the game. An Altmer Intrigue opens up a new adventure for High Elves and seeks toshow other Altmer opinionsof the Aldmeri Dominion’s actions far away from home.

Described as a fusion ofHeart of DarknessandApocalypse Now, An Altmer Intrigue offers dungeons, exploration, hundreds of new voice lines, and a number of custom homes, NPCs, items, and merchants spread throughout its new areas. It’s well worth installing, even for non-Altmer characters, though High Elves will likely get the most out of the experience.
An Altmer Intriguecan be installed through the Steam Workshop.
3Amazing Race Tweaks! - High Elf
The Amazing Race Tweaks series of mods seeks to fundamentally change the way races and race bonuses work inSkyrim. For High Elves, this means gaining several Magicka-oriented racial abilities, such as Highborn Magicka Drain, Highborn Knowledge, and Highborn Regeneration. They also gain Highborn Mastery, reducing spell cost across the board.
When it comes to skills, Altmer are given a 20 percent boost to Alteration, Conjuration, Destructon, and Enchanting in their respective ways. The mod turns Altmers into aone-man Magickal armywith hugely increased stats over the original benefits of the race, including making their Magicka Regeneration perk a constant effect rather than a daily one.

High Elf Amazing Race Tweakscan be installed through the Steam Workshop.
2Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim
Because High Elves areso tuned to the Magickal energiesof the world, and becauseSkyrimoffers relatively few truly unique spells for sorcerers and the like, most Altmer players eventually find themselves installing a new set of spells to use. The Apocalypse mod does this to a near-perfect degree, offering a whopping 155 new spells (31 for each school) for players to try out.

Spells like Thoughtsteal, which steals the target’s spells, Cyclonic Rift, which teleports enemies between two tornadoes, and Lamb of Mara, which heals the user when they do damage, have no equal in the base game. It’s an incredible feat of programming to get this many new (and distinct) spells working, and they’re perfect for a High Elf sorcerer to master.

1Imperious - Races of Skyrim
WhileSkyrimoffers first-time RPG players an excellent fantasy experience, over time many players realized that thegame has little depthwhen it comes to racial immersion. Compared to the racial benefits of High Elves inMorrowindorOblivion, for example,SkyrimAltmer are left severely wanting. The Imperious - Races of Skyrim mod, like the Amazing Race Tweaks mod, fundamentally changes what it means to be a High Elf in this game.
The mod gives Altmer different starting stats, including lower Health and Stamina, much higher Magicka, and it also alters the regeneration rate for each of the three resources. The mod gives each race three special abilities, and for High Elves this means getting extra bonuses for maxed-out skills, increased Magicka and Stamina regeneration, and a trade-off between weapon and armor effectiveness and Enchanting strength.

TheImperious - Races of Skyrim modcan be downloaded (and installed) through theSkyrimNexus.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrimin its original moddable version (not Special Edition or otherwise) is only available for PC.
