General Advice on Keeping Everyone Alive
From the start of the game, players will faceQuick-Time Events (QTEs)alongside story opportunities. It is a good idea to pause when checking the guide in between cutscenes due to their sudden and unpredictable nature; choosing/missing certain opportunities can accidentally lead players down a different story path.
Deliberately failing a QTE may be the way forward, so take care whenmaking snap decisions throughoutThe Quarry.consider make manual backup savesbefore difficult gameplay sections if players are not used to completing QTEs.

Not all choices will unlock story paths, but they can influence dialogue. For example, only three decisions during the prologue influence the story path, but there are close to 20 opportunities, QTEs, and dialogue choices the player will come across.
Everything below focuses on the “Everyone Survives” story paths, but don’t be surprised if certain interactions lead to short optional cutscenes.

Usually, being friendly and honest to others during dialogue choices is the best way to proceed, but there are a few subverted moments.
The Quarryhas ten chapters in total, with nine playable characters and intersecting dialogue, meaning that choices can be tough to track over the entire game. Keeping the relationships/friendships positive betweenAbigail + Nick,Jacob + Emma,Dylan + Ryanand so on will lead to the best endings.

Prologue - Keeping Laura and Max Alive
After exploring the woods inThe Quarry’s prologue and potentially discovering a fewQuarrycollectibles, Laura will get spooked by an unseen figure and flee. Once Laura and Max are safely back in the car, police officer Travis will find the two and ask what happened.Picking the dialogue paths labeled “HONEST” twice will successfully advance this interaction.
Several cutscenes later and Laura and Max arrive at Hackett’s Quarry. Once the player gets the chance to explore the bunker beneath the lodge, they can choose how Laura and Max attempt to break in.

Choose toTAKE THE WRENCHESand break into the bunker. Venturing forward will lead to another cutscene that results in Max getting slashed;choose to HELP MAX before the timer runs out and the desired story path will unlock.
Consequence:Travis will appear at the end of the prologue to drug Laura and shoot at Max’s assailant. It will be more useful to also choose “FRIENDLY”, “COMPLIANT”, and “RELIEVED” dialogue afterwards, but only the first two answers will unlock the story path.

At the end of the prologue, a mysterious old woman will briefly discuss the nature of choice along with any tarot cards picked up. This occurrence also happens at the end of every chapter;choose to MOVE ON each timewhen doing the “Everybody Survives” path.
Note thatthis option doesn’t happen at the end of Chapter 2or any chapter where the player does not pick up a tarot card.

Chapter 1 - A Fool’s Errand/Down The Rabbit Hole
Chapter 1 has Jacob as the player character at Hackett’s Quarry, tasked with heading inside the lodge to grab the bags by the staircase. Doing so will trigger a conversation, and just like last time, choosing the friendly and polite options will help build character bonds between Jacob and Kaitlyn.
Once Jacob moves towards the minivan he is able todeliberately BREAK THE FUEL LINE, which will kickstart the game’s main plot.

After this, the location will switch to the camp cabins as an intro for Abigail and Emma. Choosing to BREAK IN to the hut will allow access to a vital collectible by heading inside, namelythe stuffed animal on the left side of the hut. Abigail must choose to KEEP it for a critical moment much later on, resulting in a “PATH UPDATED” message.
Consequence:Breaking the fuel line ensures the counselors have to stay another night. The stuffed animal is used in a crucial moment to save Abigail near the end of the game; forgetting to grab it here will lead to character deaths.

It is possible to take the SCENIC ROUTE with Abi and Emma and EAVESDROP on Chris to yield more information, but no further story decisions are required for the rest of the chapter.
Chapter 2 - Playing With Fire/Watch Your Step
CALL JACOB to lead him over to Emma after exploring the lodge for supplies. Inside the stash room is a shotgun with the safe code attached, pick it up. It will trigger an automatic cutscene where Emma opens the safe, but for this path, she needs toLEAVE THE FIREWORKS in the safe.
Once Dylan and Ryan are inside Hackett’s office, they can interact with several items. One notable path can be triggered by guiding Dylan to the trap door, then choosing to CLIMB DOWN when prompted. Down in the basement, choosing the PLAYFUL dialogue option can lead to Dylan grabbing a collectible from the drawer.

Consequence:Finding the fireworks and the ladder in this chapter are important for later on in the game, but do not take them with you.
The rest of this exploration section is mandatory, after which players take control of Nick guiding Abigail through the woods. A split path is ahead, but neither route ultimately affects the ‘Everybody Survives’ path. The last sections of Chapter 2 have no impactful story path choices.
Chapter 3 - Pieces of Silver/Finders Keepers/Distraction
Nick gets attacked shortly after beginning Episode 3;Abi needs to HELP NICKand lure the creature away to unlock the next story path. Complete Abi’s QTEs by running and mashing the action button until she reaches an opportunity to climb a tree.
DO NOT climb the tree or Abi will be caught; wait instead for the timer to run out. This will lead to the HOLD BREATH event: keep the action button held until the red light fades and Abi will successfully escape.
Following a story-heavy section with Jacob and Emma,Ryan will have to take the shortcut routes both timesin order to catch Nick in time. After completing multiple QTEs in quick succession, Ryan needs to SHOUT and then SHOOT the hunter to rescue Nick.
Picking up Jacob’s story path consists of getting ensnared by a hunter trap. Despite appearances, the hunter will not attack Jacob, and in fact, will get him out of the snare.
Afterward, there is a chance for Jacob to distract the hunter.DO NOT THROW DIRTor Jacob will be at risk of attack later on, so wait for the timer to run out instead.
Consequence:Getting all of these actions correct will result in Nick being found alive and Abi getting away unscathed. The hunter will also pour blood over Jacob’s face as a form of protection from monsters. Failing these actions will result in Nick being captured before Ryan can rescue him and Abi getting infected, so be wary of the QTE sequences.

Chapter 4 - Keeping Jacob and Emma Alive
The trio will now be back around the campfire and Ryan attempts to patch Nick’s wound. Soon, some rustling will be heard in nearby bushes and Ryan will point a shotgun at them to defend, butDO NOT SHOOT both timesthe opportunity appears or Jacob will unknowingly be shot.
Jacob will reveal himself and begin arguing with Ryan, so make sure that he LETS GO of the gun when prompted to avoid any accidental friendly fire.
The next crucial step involves Emma on the island. Head up and inside the tree house toexamine the nearby bags firstinstead of the suspicious trapdoor to receive a taser.
Once the trapdoor is inspected, USE TASER on the monster that emerges to begin the rapid-fire chase sequence.
Complete the QTEs, then USE BEAR SPRAY when the appears in front of Laura. After two more QTEs, be sure to BLOCK THE DOOR before USING THE TRAPDOOR. If all QTEs and options are successfully completed, Emma will be safe and suffer no attacks.
Once Dylan is playable, choose the OPTIMISTIC and DETERMINED dialogue routes and make sure Dylan gives Ryan the gun at the end of the scene. When play momentarily returns to Emma, she can escape via zipline bychoosing the REEL SLOWLY option and refusing to SPEED UPwhen given the opportunity.
Consequence:These actions will result in Jacob not accidentally getting killed and a close getaway for Emma. Positive dialogue choices will also help reduce the risk of friendly fire in later chapters.
Chapter 5 - Down the Rabbit Hole 2/Helping Hand
In the next Nick and Abi cutscene, make sure that Nick chooses the GRATEFUL dialogue to update the path and strengthen their bond. When the cast begins hearing noises, DO NOT SPEAK UPwhen given the opportunity in order to evade attention. This can be followed up by REASSURING Kaitlyn as she attempts to investigate the sound.
Once control is passed to Kaitlyn, a short QTE sequence plays. Another HOLD BREATH section will appear; do so until the hunter walks away, and the red lights stop flashing like before. The same will happen to Nick and Abi in the next scene,be sure to HIDE and HOLD BREATH once again until the hunter leaves.
After Dylan and Ryan explore the lodge area, they head inside the radio tower and discuss the equipment. More noises come from above, butDO NOT SHOOT at the ceiling when prompted. Not shooting will mean Abi, Nick, and Kaitlyn can safely hide in a nearby lodge rather than risk getting attacked.
After selecting the appropriate calm and determined responses for Ryan, Dylan will suddenly get bitten by a creature. To avoid Dylan being infected, choose the DESPERATE dialogue option and grab the CHAINSAW. Once Dylan’s hand is amputated, no further story decisions occur until the next chapter.
Consequence:Avoiding detection from the hunters allows the trio to escape safely and be safely warned from attack by Dylan. Amputating Dylan’s arm also prevents him from transforming into a werewolf, which also leaves him open to protect Kaitlyn and Ryan later.

Chapter 6 - Keeping Jacob, Abi, and Nick Alive
Chapter 6 begins with Jacob and Emma briefly reuniting before another monster interrupts them. A secondary chase sequence occurs, after which Jacob needs to HIDE instead of running and HOLD BREATH until the monster walks away.
After evading the monster, Jacob will unavoidably stumble into a bear trap which he can attempt to PRY OPEN, but one of the hunters will appear and knock him out in a cutscene.
Returning to the pool house, Nick will begin acting savage while cuddling Abi. to prevent any attacks,Kaitlyn needs to INTERVENEso that Nick gets pushed into the pool, but also HELP NICK so he doesn’t drown.
Back in the poolhouse, Nick will suddenly grab Abi and throw her across the room. Here, she will pick up the shotgun and point it at Nick;press the trigger button to SHOOT NICK. If Abi doesn’t shoot, she will die because Nick transforms into a monster shortly after.
Emma is back under control following this scene where she finds the hunters having trapped a monster. DO NOT RUN when prompted, as Emma will attack the hunters and run off in a cutscene.
Returning to Ryan, a familiar voice is heard through the door.By choosing the REASSURING, SUSPICIOUS, and INTERESTED dialoguechoices, the counselors welcome Laura back into the poolhouse without any conflict.
Consequence:Jacob will be captured by the hunters but still kept alive. Emma will have evaded capture from the hunters for now –plus the trio of counselors in the poolhouse have reunited with Laura from the prologue.
Even if the best decisions are made, Nick succumbing to the monster infection is an unavoidable part of the story, but he survives the shotgun blast and can be saved later since he is not technically dead.
Chapter 7 - Keeping Laura and Max Alive
Chapter 7 flashes back to Laura waking up after being drugged in the prologue; DO NOT CALL OUT when prompted. Instead, be COMPLIANT in dialogue with Travis and DON’T LASH OUT when given the opportunity.
Multiple cutscenes will follow, so use sympathetic dialogue (REFLECTIVE, CURIOUS, OPTIMISTIC) with Max and in the brief flash-forward with Ryan.
Once the prompt appears for Laura,DO NOT CALL FOR HELPby letting the timer run out. Eventually, Laura will escape the cell and be able to roam the police station freely.
Head to the 3rd office upstairs and investigate the locker; inside is a syringe that will be used later to organize a less risky escape. Afterward, return to the cell and hide the syringe behind the loose brick in the wall before taking the GO TO SLEEP option.
During the next cutscene, Laura has to be HONEST and CONFIDENT to trigger an event;DO NOT GRAB THE GUN. Instead, after some more dialogue, Travis the cop will enter the cell, allowing Laura to perform a QTE and inject him with the syringe.
Consequence:Tranquilizing Travis will prevent Laura from getting automatically killed later on and keep Max alive. If Laura doesn’t find and hide the syringe, she will need to grab the gun, leading to a more risky QTE scene. If Laura shoots Travis, she will be unavoidably shot later on as revenge.

Chapter 8 - Keeping Ryan and Laura Alive
The first few playable scenes of Chapter 8 only rely on sensible dialogue choices, but the final section has lots of game-altering scenes that require attention.
In the first section, there are a few QTEs to be aware of when climbing the stairs, and failure can result in death. The main section begins when Ryan and Laura explore the Hackett basement; approaching the red light tunnel will trigger a cutscene and several QTE sequences.
After the first QTE,DO NOT OPEN THE CAGE. Secondly, the player needs to STOP LAURA from firing the shotgun and killing the beast, and instead HELP JACOB. Next, Ryan must choose the two breakers that add up to the labeled doors. CHOOSING BREAKERS 1+2 equals the first door, followed by 2+3.
Consequences:All human counselors can escape unscathed while keeping the monsters locked away. Along with the positive dialogue choices, Monster Nick is spared from being shot by Laura, and Jacob is freed from the cell. Failing to act accordingly will result in both Nick and Jacob getting killed.
Chapter 9 - Keep Everyone Alive
This chapter makes it possible to start killing the Hacketts, a recommended move since they are not required for the “Everyone Survived” ending and it makes escaping easier.
Begin with POSITIVE and CURIOUS dialogue options, until Laura and Ryan are playable. When the old woman and Laura begin struggling with the gun,MASH COMMAND BUTTON to fire the shotgun and kill her.
Ryan will get stabbed during the cutscene even after a successful QTE, butit is vital that he DOES NOT PULL KNIFEas it is needed later. The next few scenes alternate between Ryan and Laura, trying to avoid getting attacked. When starting as Ryan, make sure to interact with the nearby cabinet in the room so he can hide in it later.
Chapter 9 - Kill the Hacketts
The following two sections consist of HIDE and HOLD BREATH QTEs again; be sure to let go when there is roughly 5% of breath left as the opportunity is so short. Next, Laura needs to dodge left three times and then choose to ATTACK. Successfully smashing the command button will kill another Hackett too.
Ryan’s next scene is a longer series of important events. Dodge two QTEs left and right, then HOLD BREATH until the red light stops, but be quick to RELEASE the command button, or the hunter will return. Next, Ryan has the opportunity to STAB the big guy; he won’t immediately die, but this is the only chance to kill him.
Ryan needs to be SYMPATHETIC at this point and choose ACCEPT in order to survive the blood loss and Laura’s eventual transformation. Choose NOT TO PULL AWAY (this will unlock a trophy/achievement), and after a cutscene, Dylan and Kaitlyn become playable again. Here, it is necessary for Dylan to WARN KAITLYN at every opportunity, allowing with SMASHING the command button to fend off the monsters.
Abigail’s scene is short but crucial, as she needs to inspect the nearby fuse box and grab some SILVER SHELLS before climbing the ladder. When the perspective switches to Laura, she will automatically turn into a werewolf as part of the story, but as soon as Ryan SHOOTS the charging monster, she will revert to normal.
Consequences:This long chapter results in most of the Hacketts being killed, along with Jacob’s rescue and Laura being shown mercy by Travis. The curse infecting Laura and Max will have been lifted, allowing them to still be alive for the trophy/achievement. If Chris is not shot in time, then Ryan will die, so do not miss this moment.

Chapter 10 - Everyone Survives Ending
Now that Max’s curse is lifted, we can play as him in human form. The only story choice that matters is letting Max STAY because the other option will kill him. This is followed by playing Kaitlyn at the lodge; all the unresolved items set up earlier will now be used for the final sequence of events.
Once Kaitlyn chooses PREPARE FOR ATTACK, the following choices need to be made: RUN, BEAM, Smash command button, RUN, INVESTIGATE, and finally SHOOT. This will result in one more Hackett family member being killed and the counselors fully protected.
Laura plays out the final sequence of events. Begin with the INQUISITIVE question to get some plot resolution, but be ready for a directional QTE and GRAB GUN prompt. After a short cutscene, TAKE COVER and complete the QTE, pausing only to leave a DETERMINED comment before the shootout.
When prompted with the shotgun choice, GIVE TO RYAN. After some PROBING and REFLECTIVE questions, a sudden event prompt will interrupt the scene as Silas attacks, but DO NOT RAISE GUN yet. Silas will be killed later; doingso too early will result in a missed opportunity to kill Travis Hackett.
The final QTE MUST be avoided;DO NOT PRESS THE DIRECTIONAL QTE AT ALL. If this QTE is passed, then either Laura will die, or Travis will survive. Thankfully, after missing the QTE, it is then possible to SHOOT SILAS when aiming the gun. Again, doing this is necessary; otherwise, Laura will die again.
Consequence:If all the previous event gates have been set up correctly, then all the counselors will be able to defend/distract the werewolves successfully. After the last werewolf Hacketts have been killed, all steps will have been completed, resulting in the trophy/achievement appearing shortly after the epilogue cutscenes.
This ending path is considered the most demanding to achieve thanks toThe Quarry’s multiple intersecting story branches, but following this guide will ease the more difficult sections. Thankfully, Chapter Select will also unlock at the end of a successful playthrough for players to retry new ending paths.
