The Sims 4allows players to let their imaginations run wild and create their perfect (or chaotic) little world and have complete control over their Sims’ virtual lives. It’s fun playing around with the characters and making elaborate storylines for each Sim. But at the end of the day, it is still a video game, and video games often glitch.
Everyone’s been there – lost in the game world for hours, and all of a sudden, one of the Sims stops behaving the way they should be. It may start freezing and get trapped behind something or become totally unresponsive, making players think about getting rid of that Sim. In a situation like that, the only way to get the Sim back to normal function inThe Sims 4is by resetting it.

If done correctly, a blank dialogue box will open in the top-left corner of the screen to enter cheat codes.
ResetSim Cheat
This method directly resets a Sim by using their first and last name.
Make sure to accurately enter the name of the Sim that needs to be reset. For example, if the Sim is named Alexis Leo, the cheat code would look like “resetSim Alexis Leo”

Shift-Click Cheat
Xbox orPS4 players can test anyshift-click cheats by using the following alternatives for the Shift key.
On Xbox, press theAandBbuttons simultaneously, while for PS4/PS5, hit the X and O keys together to access the equivalent menus.

Teleport the Sim
With the cheats enabled, the Shift-Click menu also gives the option to teleport the Sim.
Travel with the Sim
Players have the option to reset their Sims by making them travel. The method is pretty straightforward; here’s how players can travel with their Sims.
This puts the Sims in a new location and essentially works the same way as teleporting. Another advantage of traveling is that if some of the object interactions are glitchy – this fixes them too.
Move to a New Household
If all else fails, the last resort would be tomove the unresponsive Sim to an entirely new householdand back to its old one or simply shift the entire family to a new household/lot.

Before taking such extreme measures, make sure the game has been saved just in case things go wrong.
Moving an entire household to a new location will either transfer all the furniture to the household inventory or sell it. It’s recommended to try all the other options first before resorting to this drastic option.
