The Sims 4has its fair share of supernatural creatures. Other than vampires,spellcasters, aliens, or mermaids, it allows the players to interact with ghosts. However, dealing with the spirits of dead Sims can be problematic to a certain degree since ghosts can get mad sometimes and cause chaos.

Still, if the player wants to include ghosts in their gameplay, they have the chance to do so in multiple ways. Not only can the ghosts scare people but they can also live very much the same way as they did when they were alive. Plus, being a ghost gives them additional powers and a few extra perks that might not be immediately obvious. That’s especially true if it’s the first time the player is trying out playing with ghosts inThe Sims 4.
8Ghosts Break Things But Can Also Clean
Since ghosts can’t do what living Sims do, they entertain themselves by haunting various objects in the Sims' homes. For example, they can possess their showers, sinks, fridges, bins,… The possessed object starts to rattle and levitate. Once the ghost leaves it, it usually breaks so the Sims then have a lot of fixing to do.
That’s one of the most annoying features of ghosts. On the other hand, they can also clean for the Sims. If they see spilled water somewhere, they might mop it up. So even though they don’t fix the appliances they broke, they can at least partially remove the mess they caused.
7It’s Possible To Use Cheats
Just like in all aspects ofThe Sims 4,it’s also possible to use cheatson ghosts. For example, the cheats allow changing the cause of death of the ghost. So if the ghost died by drowning, the player can change it to death by embarrassment or by being eaten by the cow plant.
While it might not seem like such a big deal, the way the ghosts died has a large impact on their behavior and on the things that will make them angry. An even more useful option is to use the cheats to add a ghost to the Sims' household.
6Bringing Ghosts To Life
If the player loses a Sim they really liked but the Sim sticks around as a ghost, there’s a chance to bring them back. There are two possible common ways how to do this. The first one requires a Sim to complete the bestselling author aspiration. Once they do, they get the poetic trait as a reward which will allow themto write a so-called Book of Life. Once Sim writes the book, they can use it to bring a ghost to life (not themselves, though).

Another, possibly easier option, is to make the Ambrosia potion. It’s not without difficulties, though, as the potion requires rare ingredients (such as the death flower) and also the highest level in both the cooking and gourmet cooking skills.
5Joining A Household
If a ghost returns to the Sims' household regularly (it happens at night), it’s possible to eventually befriend the ghost.Once they’re friends, the Sims can ask the ghost to join their household. If the ghost agrees, they will become playable but still remain dead.
However, a ghost joining a household leads to the player getting two achievements! So if anybody wants to get all the possible achievementsThe Sims 4has to offer, they should have a ghost join the household at least once.
4Not All Ghosts Are The Same
Depending on which expansions and adds-on the players have, they might not know all the special ghosts. Other than the usual ghosts, there are a few unique ones. One of them is the Island spirits. It’s only possible to call them if the Sims' lot has the island spirit trait.
A recent ghost who has an important part in the gameplay is Guidry. IfSim joins the paranormal investigator career, they will most likely encounter Guidry sooner or later, since meeting him is the best way how to get the license necessary for doing this job.
3So Many Abilities
Other than breaking things, there are a lot more things the ghosts can do, some of which are bizarre. For example, they can repair the previously broken objects by possessing them once again. They can wear carved pumpkins on their heads and float around with them which makes them happier.

If a cow plant ate the Sim, the ghost will cause plants to grow faster but onlywhen they feel happy. And funnily enough, vampire ghosts or spellcaster ghosts will have some of their abilities even after their passing. So vampire ghosts will still drink people’s blood, for example, but sunlight doesn’t burn them.
2Bringing Back The Pets
Other than human Sims, it’s also possible to befriend ghost pets and add them to the household. Once the ghost pet joins the household, the Sim can feed them the Ambrosia as a treat and they come back to life.
The downside is the pets will still be old by this point and most likely die soon again. However, if the Sims want to get a few more precious days with their pets, this is a way how to go about it.
1Romancing Ghosts
The last interesting thing the players can do is to have their Sims romance ghosts and even marry them! In almost every way, the romance between a human Sim and a ghostworks like a usual relationship. However, what might disappoint some players is that it’s impossible to have a baby with a ghost.
The only way around it would be to use a mod that allows this option but unfortunately,The Sims 4doesn’t allow a ghost and their living partner to have a baby together without cheating.
