Summary
Kafka was well-received byHonkai: Star Railfans before she was even available to play. Players loved her design and the trial that they’d been given at the very start of the game, and once she was finally ready to join the Trailblazer’s party,Kafka brought in over 16 million dollarsfor the game. The long-awaited Nihility and Lightning character found herself a home in many player’s teams, especially with her unique kit and play style.
As a Nihility unit, DoT, or damage over time, is what Kafka is meant to excel at. She does just that, stacking damage like it’s nothing. Her ability to instantly trigger other DoT debuffs on an enemy and her capability to use follow-up attacks make her a strong Nihility DPS forHonkai: Star Railplayers. She is an incredibly powerful unit and a must-pull for anyone low a DPS, Nihility users, and, of course, Kafka fans.
Honkai: Star Rail’s Kafka’s Kit
As a DPS, it is important to note that all of her traces are important to level. It’s a loss of overall damage output to neglect any of her skills, however if players were going to prioritizeHonkai: Star Rail’s Kafka’s traces, the first to be leveled should be her skill and ultimate. These are where she gets most of her damage from and where her usages on the field shine. Her skill triggers all other DoT debuffs on a targeted enemy without removing the timer they have.
With this in mind, it is abundantly clear thatKafka’s best team compsare going to consist of other Nihility path units. The ability to trigger other DoTs would go to waste if she did not have at least one another DoT sub-DPS on the team. Teammates like Serval and Sampo are some of her best for free-to-play users, otherwise, she has a surprising amount of synergy with her other Stellaron Hunters. If players can’t figure out who to slot in for the last teammate, an Abundance or Preservation path unit is always a smart choice for survivability.
And though her teams are easy to figure out,Kafka’s best light conescan get more complicated. After all, she is asking for very specific stats and bonuses that can’t be gained elsewhere. Though the three-star Hidden Shadow is technically an option, it does nothing for her kit, and only buffs her basic attack. Kafka needs light cones like Eyes Of The Prey or her signature light cone Patience Is All You Need to truly shine.
When it comes to figuring outhow to build Kafka, it’s a lot easier than it sounds. The typical DPS stats work well with the addition of Effect Hit Rate. Players should consider prioritizing SPD over Effect Hit Rate, however, as she can get the ideal amount of that in sub stats, unlike SPD. She needs as much as possible in order to consistently trigger DoT debuffs on enemies.
Nihility teams weren’t a hot pick before Kafka’s release. Her very arrival made them spring into action, however, and become a viable option for harder fights such as Forgotten Hall. OtherNihility users inHonkai: Star Railcan finally have their moments alongside her as they go into battle. Previously, the ones who were available were just mentioned as free-to-play alternatives to other units. But now, Kafka has changed the game entirely and allowed for new teams to take center stage in this new meta.
