Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsis coming next year and in an attempt to lay the groundwork for its release, Gearbox released a new trailer for the title at this year’s The Game Awards. TheBorderlandsspinoff showed quite a bit more of what players can expect to see and do once they boot upTiny Tina’s Wonderlandswhen it arrives this spring.

As was the case with a handful ofother games that made appearances at The Game Awards,Tiny Tina’s Wonderlandsgot a bit of a lead-up to the new trailer thanks to on-stage appearances by two of the game’s main voice actors. Will Arnett, who plays the part of the game’s main villain, and Ashley Burch, who voices Tiny Tina, both gave an intro to the two-minute and thirty-second video.

After their intro, the video kicked off showing more of the kind ofDungeons and DragonsmeetsBorderlandsadventures that will be present in the upcoming game. There was also a bit more of a look at the kind of characters users will be able to take on inTiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

The new trailer show showed off some of the sense of humor that will be employed in the upcoming game. Unsurprisingly since it’s a Gearbox creation, it has the same sort of comedic stylings as theBorderlandsfranchise. It also comes as no surprise that the art style is the same as the previous games since it’s technicallyset inside theBorderlandsuniverse, though this time the game has players taking on the role of Fatemakers, rather than Vault Hunters.

There is one wrinkle when it comes toTiny Tina’s Wonderlands, as the story behind the game is that Tiny and her friends are playing a “game within the game” so much of the narrative comes from what Tiny says happens as the dungeon master. A bit of that was shown off in the form of a giant cheese curl that had to be lifted off the board. Another part of the video showed Tina’s massive face appearing in the sky as she loomed over the virtual game board while she announced what the characters would be playing.

While several of the games shown off at The Game Awards could be several months, or even several years away, those excited forTiny Tina’s Wonderlandswon’t have to wait as long. TheBorderlandsspinoff is due to arrive this spring. Before the full game hits store shelves,Epic Games Store users can play a free standalone adventurerelated to the full game withTiny Tina’s Dragon Keep.
