Adventure gameTunicdoesn’t exactly hold the player’s hand. There are a number of mechanics and other features that are intentionally left mysterious, either until the player reaches a certain point in the story, gains a certain item, or for the entire game. Because of that, it’s easy to be left wondering about the best ways to achieve even simple things.

Tunicis not a traditional RPG, though it does borrow heavily from that genre. The player won’t be farming experience points to level up. Instead, the primary purpose of killing enemies is to gather the money they drop. The player can spend this precious golden resource at various shops to upgrade Potions and other beneficial items. Here’s everything the player needs to know about getting money fast inTunic.

Money Earning Basics

Money (the golden objects dropped by enemies, not to be confused with the collectible Gold Coins scattered throughout the world) is easily gained through combat, but finding the most reliable way to farm it in large amounts can be a pain, especially for beginners,as not all areas are created equal when it comes to enemies.

The shops inTunicare often hidden, and the player will simply stumble upon them when they aren’t expecting them, unless they’re actively checking their map for the shop icon: a black doorway with two blue dots. It’s also worth noting that the player will lose all of their money if they die, so it’s important to be careful to keepthis iconic video game foxalive if the player is carrying a lot of money.

Money Earning Spots

There are two things to look for in a good money-farming location inTunic:enemies who will drop plenty of money, and a nearby Shrine. The importance of Shrine locations may not be obvious to some: using a Shrine resets all enemies in the area, as well as their coins, allowing the player to farm infinite amounts of money. Kill the enemies, reset at the Shrine, and repeat. This process is time-consuming, but it’s the only truly effective way to make money inTunic.Thankfully,Tunic’smobs aren’t as difficult as its bosses.

One of the first great farming spots is the Forest Fortress. This section is easier if the player has already retrieved the Magic Orb after completing the Eastern Vault, so if the player hasn’t, it’s worth doing that first. There are plenty of enemies in the Forest Fortress that drop 10 coins each, so the player can make money here with no problem. With the Magic Orb, the player can easily pull enemies down from high locations, allowing them to access out-of-reach foes for even more drops.Tunicisn’t very long, but saving time is still helpful.

Farming money inTunicis about maximizing the number of profitable enemies while minimizing the distance to the Shrine. The more items the player gets, the more avenues for money farming open up, so some of the best opportunities to get money fast don’t become unavailable until later in the game. The best thing to do is to pay attention not only to how much money is dropped when fighting one’s way through a certain area but also how much more potentially could have been earned if the player optimized their route or hada piece of equipment that they didn’t before.

Tunicis available now for the PC, Mac, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
