Like many of Ubisoft’s more recent AAA titles,Watch Dogs Legionwill have its own premium season pass, DLC, and in-game microtransactions for those players who are interested. Already, Ubisoft has talked aboutWatch Dogs Legion’sAssassin’s CreedDLC, though Ubisoft had not yet talked about how microtransactions would work in-game.
Now, Ubisoft has finally detailed exactly what players can expect out ofLegion’s microtransactions and season pass content. It seems thatWatch Dogs Legion’s in-game store will offer players the chance to buy optional cosmetics such as skins, operatives, and new masks to wear.

For those who haven’t been followingWatch DogsLegionvery closely, the game is shaping up to be one of the most interesting releases coming this Fall. Thanks to theLegion’s unique and optional permadeath feature, the game seems like it will end up having a ton of variation and replay value for subsequent playthroughs.
Legion’s focus on using multiple different operatives each with a unique skill set is arguably the game’s biggest draw, aside from the game’s stunning depiction of a futuristic version of London. Now thanks to the game’s official website, it looks likeLegion’s operatives will be the focus of the game’s microtransactions.
Watch Dogs Legionhas a season passthat players can purchase as a one-time fee, or is included in the Gold, Ultimate, and Collector’s editions of the game. Aside from the season pass,Legionalso has its own in-game store where players can spend real money in exchange for in-game credits.
Ubisoft’s website says, “Cosmetic and operative purchases in the premium store are paid for by using WD Credits, which can be bought with real-life money at an exchange rate of around 100 WD Credits for $1 Dollar, or your regional equivalent.” The website does make a point to mention that operatives purchased via microtransactions don’t offer any unique gameplay advantages and that “their gameplay abilities, traits, and weapons can be found on other Londoners around the city.”
Additionally, the website also details another way to earn an in-game currency called ETO, which allows players to buy in-game clothes, vehicle paints, and more. ETO packs can be bought inLegion’s in-game store via microtransactions, but players can also freely earn ETO by playing throughLegion’s main storyline, side missions, and replayable activities.Watch Dogs Legion’s trailersshow off a wide variety of operatives in different outfits and masks, so it seems likeLegion’s character customization options are going to be pretty extensive.
While microtransactions are oftentimes a frustrating inevitability in modern gaming, it seems that their inclusion inWatch Dogs Legionis largely unobtrusive and optional.Legionis shaping up to be one of the biggest releases in October alongside titles likePikmin 3 DeluxeandAmnesia: Rebirth. ThankfullyWatch Dogs Legion’s release datewill be here before fans know it on October 29.
Watch Dogs Legionwill launch on October 29 for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One. The game will launch with the Xbox Series X on November 10, while the PS5 version will come out on November 24.
