Call of Duty: Warzone’s Resurgence Mode
Resurgence mode was first added to the originalCall of Duty: Warzonealongside the first season ofBlack Ops Cold Warin December 2020. The primary appeal of Resurgence mode is that it possesses its own unique map away from the primary battle royale map of the title, with the originalWarzoneusing the well-receivedRebirth Island as its Resurgence mode map.
This is because Resurgence is of a much faster and unpredictable pace when compared toWarzone’sstandard gameplay experience, with eliminated players being able to redeploy after an allotted time frame if one of their squad mates is still alive. Each player also spawns in with a self-revive kit, with teammate redeploys occurring faster if a surviving team member downs or kills enemy combatants. With the Resurgence map being much smaller than the standard battle royale map and having features like rechargable supply boxes, the mode offers an addictive and action-packed gameplay experience that still falls within the general battle royale framework ofWarzone.
Resurgence in Call of Duty: Warzone 2
WhileWarzone 2has proven to be a popular title since its recent November 2022 release date, it is more than clear that players are now hungry to experience the next step of gameplay that the title will offer. A huge step in the post-launch roadmap of the title is set to soon come withSeason 2 ofWarzone 2andModern Warfare 2, which will launch on February 15.
Although the sentiment around this was recently deflated due to atwo-week delay ofWarzone 2’sSeason 2, the scope of content that the update is set to bring is more than enough to keep fans excited. It has been confirmed thatWarzone 2will be receiving a Resurgence mode of its own as a part of Season 2’s content, with fans already getting a glimpse at the brand-new map that has been created for the mode.
Themap forWarzone 2’sResurgence mode is called Ashika Island, and possesses seven key points of interest that will be aiming to provide a close-knit yet varied in-game experience. This map will also be playable withinWarzone 2’sDMZ mode, with the crown jewel location of the map being a recreation ofWorld at War’siconic Castle map. With how popular the fast-paced and highly replayable experience of Resurgence was within the originalWarzone, it is no surprise that the game mode will soon make a deserved return withinWarzone 2.
