Mass Effect 4, which has yet to receive a proper title, is in development at BioWare. After the release ofAnthem, it seems EA has BioWare sticking to its guns:Dragon AgeandMass Effect. Both games are hotly anticipated, despite neither having any concrete plans for release quite yet. Fans do know that they are getting morenews forDragon Age: Dreadwolflike its release date in 2024, but many may be curious aboutMass Effect 4.
What’s clear is that 2024 isDragon Age: Dreadwolf’s year, perhaps for release but perhaps not. IfMass Effect 4was further in development, it would still likely get very little attention this year as BioWare began its news and marketing cycle forDragon Age: Dreadwolfin full, hopefully. However, it’s clear thatMass Effect 4is still in the relatively early stages of development, adding to the fact that news will be scarce if it’ll exist at all.
Mass Effect 4 News Will Be Scarce
Dragon Age: Dreadwolfwill easily dominate BioWare’s marketing in 2024, with the developer promising news, trailers, gameplay, and a release date in 2024. It could be that it ends up targeting a holiday 2024 release date, or it could be that the title is aiming for release in 2025. Still, news will no doubt be welcomed by fans who have waited patiently since its initial announcement in 2018. Since then,Dragon Age: Dreadwolfhas received few teasers, and it stands to reason thatMass Effectis in the same boat.
If BioWare was mostly silent for six years forDragon Age: Dreadwolffor a myriad of reasons, then known insider Jeff Grubb’s assertion thatMass Effect 4will release sometime around 2029holds up. That sets the entire tone for its news cycle. It will be a mostly silent year for the game, and any possible news about the franchise that comes will likely not be directly correlated toMass Effect 4. That’s only a good thing as it allows BioWare to continue putting all the pieces of the puzzle together. However, there’s at least one day fans can reasonably expect something, most likely a teaser, for the game.
N7 Day Will Most Likely Be the Next Mass Effect Update
SinceMass Effect 4was revealed, BioWare has shown teasers on N7 Day. New images, small teaser videos, and so forth have sparked plenty of speculation about the game. From the possible roles of theGeth and Angara inMass Effect 4to it seeming like the Mass Relays are being rebuilt, each N7 day has brought some life to the community. Fans can expect the same for N7 Day 2024.
Before then, fans should exercise extreme caution about anyMass Effect 4rumorsthat may crop up. WithMass Effect 4so far away andDragon Age: Dreadwolfnews around the corner, the franchise may be largely silent this year, but it does seem like BioWare is shooting for the stars with the nextMass Effectgame.
