Summary

When Peacemaker joins the roster ofMortal Kombat 1as a fighter, there are a few things that fans can likely expect from him.Mortal Kombat 1already has a respectable list of fighters taken from various points in the series' past entries, with the DLC offering some rather interesting additions. Among the group, Peacemaker has a good chance of being remembered as a particularly notable combatant. It isn’t just Peacemaker’s colorful style that will make him stand out among the cast, because he has a shot to be one of the most unique fighters inMortal Kombat 1.

Peacemaker isn’t the first inMortal Kombat 1’s DLC release schedule, not being expected to come out until 2024. Omni-Man has already come out, being the first in the supervillain-themed list of guest characters making their debut in the game. Peacemaker and Homelander are set to follow him into the game, and it’s possible that more villains could be following them in future DLC releases. Of course, being in a pack full of supervillains, as well asMortal Kombat’s own schemer Quan Chi means that won’t be enough to make Peacemaker unique. However, Peacemaker still has plenty in his arsenal that’s worth exploring.

Peacemaker Has Plenty of Character to Offer in Mortal Kombat 1

Peacemaker’s moveset may end up bearing a similarity toRoboCop’s gameplay inMortal Kombat 11. Like RoboCop, Peacemaker is skilled with firearms and could likely pull off a selection of trick shots with his moveset. With Erron Black not making it into the game’s launch roster, there isn’t a gunslinger in the cast, and Peacemaker could fill that role. Peacemaker’s skills go beyond his firearms, of course, with him being lethal in melee combat, as well as having a helmet with sonic powers that can disorient his enemies. These skills combined can create a very distinctive moveset for Peacemaker to employ once he enters the game.

It isn’t just Peacemaker’s colorful style that will make him stand out among the cast, because he has a shot to be one of the most unique fighters inMortal Kombat 1.

A good amount of the reboot’s comedy comes fromMortal Kombat 1’s incarnation of Johnny Cage, but it’s safe to bet that Peacemaker wouldn’t be far behind in that department. John Cena’s performance as the character is serious about his job, but he’s a pretty funny guy. Between his moments of snark and frequent lack of a filter, a conversation with Christopher Smith can go in surprising directions. This could make him perfect for some pre-match banter with the game’s other fighters. Players shouldn’t be surprised if they see Peacemaker dropping some solid quips to the other members ofMortal Kombat 1’s cast.

Peacemaker isn’t the first supervillain with a comedic side to joinMortal Kombat, as The Joker was a DLC fighter inMortal Kombat 11.

One more thing that Peacemaker can bring to the game is an interesting story.Mortal Kombat 1’s tower endingscan’t all be canon, since not every character can achieve their goals. However, they can still tell a great story, even with guest characters who likely won’t show up again. In Peacemaker’s case, he’s a violent vigilante who believes that his murders were for the greater good, but over the course of his series, he finds himself increasingly questioning his life and the way he operates. Expanding on this inMortal Kombat 1could be good fodder for both pre-match lines as well as his tower ending.

Peacemaker’sMortal Kombatdebut is still months away, and hopefully, it will be worth the wait. AfterOmni-Man’s debut inMortal Kombat 1, the rest of the Kombat Pack fighters will have to match the impact that he made on the game. Thankfully, Peacemaker has more than enough in his arsenal to make sure that he will be a memorable entrant into theMortal Kombatuniverse as long as the developers play to his strengths. Peacemaker has a lot to offer inMortal Kombat 1, and players hope they will get to see his full potential.
