Why Fable at The Game Awards Would Make Sense
As far as whether Microsoft would use The Game Awards 2021 to give more information on a title as big asFable, there is a precedent that points toward the answer being yes. Xbox has participated in premieres at The Game Awards quite a lot over the years, including announcing The Coalition’s newPerfect Darktitle, thatAmong Uswas coming to Xbox systems, and various other reveals for crossovers and Xbox Game Pass additions.Fableis primed to play a big role in Xbox’s future, and the history of its cooperation with The Game Awards makes the show a great place to reveal more of the game.
Further support for its possible appearance comes from two different sources. The first is Xbox’s official statement thatFablewill arrive beforeThe Elder Scrolls 6. Bethesda is releasingStarfieldnext year, soThe Elder Scrolls 6is likely still a number of years away, but this timeline does mean that the company will likely want to start showcasing the game soon to start building hype.Xbox’s Twitter account also accidentally teaseda big announcement earlier this month that pointed toward more news coming aboutFable. While the tease was walked back, it seems likely that it could have just been posted earlier than intended, with the teases meant to help lead up to The Game Awards 2021.
There is a lot of excitement surrounding the newFabletitle, and the release of more information regarding it will be a big deal. The series still has a dedicated fanbase years after their last release, many ofwhom love theFablegames for their unique fairy-tale takeon an action RPG that includes plenty of humor and an interesting world. Hopefully, if The Game Awards doesn’t give players a new look atFable, that will happen somewhere else soon.
The Game Awards 2021is scheduled to take place on December 9.
