The first time many veterans of the series will die inWo Long: Fallen Dynastywill be to a Changgui who has its morale so much higher than the player it is absurd. At first glance, this challenge may be solely intended for hardcore-only gamers that play and practice nothing but this genre all day.

That may be partially true. At this stage, only those kinds of gamers will beat this mini-boss the first time around. However, there is a workaround inWo Long: Fallen Dynastythat allows even mediocre gamers to tackle the beast head-on with a good chance of survival.
Farming Morale & Virtue First
When players first come across the Changgui beast, it is at a morality of fifteen. The character will be somewhere between three and five. While this fight may technically be possible, it is not at all realistic. The best thing to do is carry on. Then, before fighting the final boss, turn around and head back toward the Changgui.

Save the gameto bring all the minions back to life and kill them repeatedly to get more morale. By doing this, players can easily get to fifteen or more morale points, putting them on equal or better footing than the Changgui.
At this early stage, invest in the virtues wiselyand level up at a saving point. These levels at this stage will be as much of a difference-maker as high morale can be.

Fighting The Changgui
Start by walking and hugging the left cliff. The Changgui can’t be instantly killed with a sneak attack like the minions of the level can be, but the character can get off an early flourish of attacks before the Changgui takes notice.

Changgui Moves
The Changgui has a charge attack. Without any identifying motion, it will simply start running. The temptation is to dodge or deflect as soon as it reaches the character, but this is a trap. Instead, wait for the Changgui to run into the character headfirst, then deflect when it raises one of its paws to attack tosuccessfully counter the target.
The leap attack is similar to the charge attack except that the Changgui will go through the air first. There is an indicator for this; watch for the Changgui to jump backward and then readjust itself in place. As before, hold off on deflecting the attack for a bit, the monster spends an extra bit of time in the air before landing. It’s not a lot of time, but just enough to throw off a deflection.

Perhaps the most frustrating of all its attacks, the Changgui will slightly bow its head and then immediately unleash a strike. This timing can be tricky to deflect, so hold the block button until this attack resolves.
There is also a flurry of attacks. This is deadly because if the character doesn’t deflect the first one, they must block until all the attacks are done, often shattering their defenses and stunning them. Watch for the paw to lift off of the ground, as with the charge, and deflect the blow.

Finally, there is the Changgui’s unblockable attack. It will rear on its hind legs and roar for a moment, then charge forward. Unlike its normal charge, this must be deflected as it arrives. If this timer is missed, the character will get hurt and then the Changgui will charge back toward where it charged from, often hitting the character twice.
Finishing Blow
The Changgui’s health bar is huge, making it unrealistic to kill traditionally. However, if its spirit bar goes too low, players can kill it instantly. Do this simply by deflecting these previous attacks in question, then press the Y/Triangle button when it is stunned from the spirit loss.
This will trigger an instant death cinematic. Players who uploadedawesome-looking character creation codescan watch as the combatant instantly finishes off the Changgui.

If this fight is proving too hard, level up weapons and armor, then come back later after preparing for a bit. The monster seems unkillable at first (likely the intention of the development team) but some better gear will work wonders when revisiting the encounter.
