A longtimeZeldafan captures 10 of the franchise’s most iconic title screens in a single image by gathering and running multiple Nintendo consoles.The Legend of Zeldahas been a mainstay franchise for Nintendo ever since the company’s first home console, the Nintendo Entertainment System.

This past May,The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomreleased asthe sequel toBreath of the Wild, which was available at launch with the Nintendo Switch console in March 2017. Link is separated from Zelda after an expedition underneath Hyrule Castle goes wrong, and his arm has been replaced with one from Rauru, the first king of Hyrule. After undergoing a brief trial in the Great Sky Island, Link descends to mainland Hyrule in order to find Zelda, learn more about what has transpired in his absence, and defeat his archenemy, Ganondorf. The premise ofZelda: Tears of the Kingdomis not too dissimilar from past entries in the long-running series, but the title has several new areas and gameplay mechanics.

Zeldafan HappyPond managed to capture an image of 10 title screens from variousZeldagames running across a myriad of Nintendo consoles. On the far left-hand side of the image, the very first game in the series may be seen running onThe Legend of ZeldaGame & Watch system, which was released in 2021. The title screen for the most recent game in the series,Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, may be seen on the far right-hand side of the image. Multiple Nintendo home consoles and handheld systems may be seen running the title screen ofZeldagames that were released between the original title’s launch in 1986 and 2023’sZelda: Tears of the Kingdom. These games includeThe Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HDfor the Wii U andThe Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princessfor the GameCube and Wii consoles.

According to HappyPond, taking the photo proved to be a challenge since all 10 consoles and its respectiveZeldagames must be synchronized. Certain Nintendo consoles may take longer to boot up and reach the title screen of a game, so HappyPond spent time adjusting the hardware to ensure all 10 games were active at the title screen at the same time. Fortunately,The Legend of Zeldagames for Nintendo 3DSappear to have been the easiest ones to set up since the titles run on the same hardware.

Although HappyPond went through a trial and error process while setting up all the Nintendo consoles andZeldagames, the image turned out quite well with each title screen being displayed vividly for fans to see. Some games fromthe completeZeldatimelineare missing, but the image still demonstrates the rich histories of Nintendo and this beloved game franchise.
