Many users have used their new power to manufacture machines that could gather ludicrous amounts of materials with the flick of a switch. Some crafted vehicles so they could roam the land of Hyrule in style, with options ranging from speedy motorcycles to full-blown electric airplanes. But others also used the Ultrahand to create massive weapons of war that could trample over dozens of enemies, such as adeadly spiral vehicle made from multiple Colgera jaws.

Now, one player has created a weapon that might surpass them all. Twitter user saiotoko002 posted a short clip showcasing their reimagining of Metal Gear Rex, the eponymous bipedal mech fromthe legendaryMetal Gearseries. Just as in the stealth-action franchise, theTears of the Kingdomversion of Rex notably uses a unique hip joint that allows it to walk on two digitigrade legs and even comes equipped with a gun on one of its arms. Fans were impressed with the build, with users applauding saiotoko002 for their creative use of the Zonai devices and Ultrahand system in recreating one of the most iconic mechs in video game history.

Tears of the Kingdom Players Are Obsessed With Mechs

This wasn’t the first time a creativeTears of the Kingdomfan used the game to live out their giant mech fantasies. In fact, custom-built colossal robots are something of a trend in the community. One user previously created anIronMan-style suit that could either be piloted or set to follow and fight alongside the player automatically. Just recently, anotherTears of the Kingdomplayer built a sea serpentmech, which could not only swim but also featured a rotating head and even a Zonai laser.

The Ultrahand ability is undoubtedly one of the highlights ofThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Unfortunately, it might be some time before fans see a similar mechanic in future mainlineThe Legend of Zeldatitles, asNintendo confirmed the Ultrahand will not returnin upcoming entries.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the sequel to the beloved open-world adventure, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This new adventure takes place in the same land of Hyrule as Breath of the Wild but sees something called the Upheaval, which allows link to travel to Sky Islands, as well as deep into the Depths beneath Hyrule. Players can use special abilities to fuse together weapons, and build items to help them progress through the release.
