Quick Links
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomfeatures 152 shrines, each with its own unique puzzle that Link must solve. While many of these shrines can be accessed simply by approaching them, there are a select few that require Link to complete a separate puzzle or task before the entrance is revealed. Taken as a whole, these missions are known as Shrine Quests inTears of the Kingdom.
The Ikatak Shrine is an example of one ofTears of the Kingdom’s most common Shrine Quests, which revolve around Link taking a small crystal from one location to another, culminating in the crystal physically transforming into the shrine itself. Found in Gisa Crater, a remote area in the western Tabantha Frontier, the Gisa Crater Crystal Shrine quest will challenge Link to find a creative way of getting the crystal up from a cave. This guide will explain step-by-step how to complete the task, and claim Rauru’s Blessing.

How to Reach Gisa Crater in Tears of the Kingdom
Gisa Crater (-3932, 1100, 0094) is found on the western edge of Hyrule, sitting just south of Rito Village. As the area is somewhat remote, most players will likely find it easiest to access the area using one of two towers: Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower (-1901, 1243, 0297), or,Rospro Pass Skyview Tower(-3686, 2342, 0233).
Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower is one of the first towers Link will unlock if following the main story progression, and will allow Link to glide into the crater region from the east. Remember to bring stamina-replenishing meals as the trip requires considerable stamina. If Link has acquired the Vow of Tulin, make sure to summon before making the jump.

How to Begin the Gisa Crater Crystal Shrine Quest
When Link reaches the crater, he will find the same stone snake that sits at the base of every shrine. In crystal shrine quests, the missing crystal will become the large stone that Link walks into. Look for this at the northern edge of the crater.
To begin the quest, approach the empty base and interact with the green hand symbol, just as Link would at any shrine. Doing so will not only begin the mission, but also cause a small beam of green light to connect with the crystal.

How to Complete Gisa Crater Crystal Shrine Quest
Follow Green Light into Cave:
If Link follows the green light, it will lead him down into the bottom of the crater. At the bottom, Link will find a hole that drops into an open cave. Watch out when falling in, as there are multiple monsters looking to surprise him.
If Link heads down during daylight hours, he should only found two Ice Likes waiting for him. If Link has any armor with the “Unfreezable” perk, such as Zant’s Helmet, he should wear it while fighting the Likes. If Link jumps in at night, he’ll also find three Stalkoblins. Deal with the Stalkoblins by destroying their heads, then deal with the Ice Likes.

Link can kill the Ice Likes by hitting them with fire to expose the vulnerable bulb in their ‘mouth.’ Once out, hit it again to put them in a prolonged vulnerable state. Continue this process until they are finished.
How to Get the Crystal Out of the Cave:
Once Link clears the chamber, he’ll notice the green light leading right to the crystal. Pick it up and bring it to the raised section in the center of the chamber. If Link looks up, he’ll notice the raised mound roughly corresponds with the opening above.
The only materials in the chamber available to Link are two Zonai rockets. As everything aboutTears of the Kingdomis designed with player freedomin mind, this guide will refrain from calling rockets the ‘intended method.’ Link can use any number of options to get the crystal out of the cave, especially if he is well-stocked with Zonai Capsules. However, given that rockets were left has the only available devices by the developer, this guide will focus on that method.

Using the central mound as a guide, Link will lie the crystal down as close to center as possible. The ground is far from even, but this will actually work in Link’s benefit if used correctly. Fuse a skyward-facing rocket to the side of the crystal, and let the combination settle. It is ok if the rocket is not pointing directly up, as the last thing Link wants is the crystal going straight up and coming straight down. Just make sure that the rocket is not tilted west. If this happens, the crystal can shoot straight off the edge of Hyrule, and will simply respawn.
Hit the rocket to launch the crystal up and out of the cave. Once Link is sure the crystal is not going to fall back in,use Ascend to get Link to the surface. Take the crystal to the base of the shrine and watch it transform.

If Link cannot see the crystal once he returns to the surface, remember that the green light coming from the shrine will always lead Link directly to it.

How to Complete Ikatak Shrine
As it is one of Rauru’s Blessings, Ikatak Shrine does not include any puzzles or challenges. Link can head in, receive theBig Battery Zonai Capsulefrom the treasure chest, and then collect the Light of Blessing. With that, Ikatak Shrine is complete.
